Kristoffer Scott is an unfortunate young man who was catastrophically hurt in a car crash. He was a vibrant young individual with his entire life ahead of him and in an instant it was all taken away. On the evening of February 10th, 1998 Kristoffer and two friends were on their way to a video store to exchange music tapes and Kristoffer’s dad received the call that all parents dread. Kristoffer was in a crash and to come quickly to the hospital before it was too late. Kristoffer was not driving the car. He was the front seat passenger in the car that tragically went out of control. The driver, although hurt, can now walk and talk, hold a job and can enjoy some part of life. Kristoffer’s girlfriend Sam was in the back seat and was not seriously injured. Kris however now requires full time care. His mother Carol works for the Palm Beach County School Board teaching Autistic children. Her insurance, an HMO company, provides the basic needs for Kris.

Kristoffer is a black belt in Taekwondo and has achieved many trophies and awards. Currently he is not able to train, but he is still a black belt.

His Mom believes that this is where he gets his inner strength. Kristoffer excelled in many sports in his young life. He loves football and his favorite teams are the San Francisco 49ers and of course the Miami Dolphins. He loves music and Bob Marley, Jerry Garcia and Pink Floyd are favorites. He enjoyed the outdoor life, riding his bike with the wind blowing in his hair and swimming daily. Kristoffer loves animals with a passion and worked at an animal shelter before getting hurt. He hoped to be a marine biologist, as he loves the ocean.

Kristoffer was brought home from the hospital 9 years ago and given 30 days to live. He continues to beat all odds as he is young and strong and has a will to live and the potential to excel provided his needs are met. He is a survivor. Kris can move his left toe up for “yes” and down for a “no”. He also has movement in both hands. Kris is a traumatic brain injured young man who requires total care. He is very fortunate to have the love from the people with whom he spends his life with, Wilda, Dyan and Marie, his nurses who tend to his every need. He is vent dependent to breathe and eats through a feeding tube. Kris is a TBI/MV individual who has no spinal damage.

Badly Needed Wheelchair and Transport Van

If a hurricane occurs and the winds get out of control, the ambulance services are not required to risk their own lives to save others. Oxygen will not be delivered to a residence if conditions are not safe. Carol has a generator to sustain the life support system that keeps her son alive, but the propane that operates it will not be delivered until all conditions are safe for the drivers. During Hurricane Francis and Hurricane Gene such an incident occurred. Carol had to drive her son to the hospital when the generator blew up and the power went out, flooding the room.

Kristoffer has long since outgrown his wheelchair and is in desperate need of a new "built to specifications" Traumatic Brain Injury designed wheelchair. The insurance policies will not cover these expenses.

Kris with his Dad, Frank
Adding to this already dire situation, on September 10th, 2004 - Frank Scott, Kristoffer’s Dad, tragically fell down a flight of stairs and died within the home they all shared happily at one time.

The Mission and Purpose of this website is to provide Kristoffer and his mother with some much needed help. As stated previously, Kristoffer is in need of a new wheelchair and a new van. The GOL ILUMINADO FOUNDATION, a 501(c)(3) Federal Non-Profit Organization created this website as a communication vehicle and platform to assist this special young man. Your donation and support, no matter how small, will help and is very much appreciated. It is a tax-deductible donation. Carol Scott is a courageous and humble person who selflessly helps others. Please reach out and assist this family with some very much needed support. THANK YOU!
